How is your business site looking?
Is it time for a change?
Let us know your thoughts in the comments below. 🙂
Hi Jessica: their home page looks pretty legit to me. Can you be more specific?
Unfortunately they do “look” legit (hence how I was scammed by them myself), but they are not. From this I’ve learned it would be pretty easy to pull that off 😉
Go to twitter and do a search for WittyThemes and you’ll see discussions with me and various other users who have been scammed by them (you may have to do some digging because they do try to bury the comments).
The themes they’re selling are not theirs for one, and none of what they offer on the site exits – no support, no money back guarantee, etc. They take your money and run, and the themes don’t even work half of the time. If you try to contact them via email, twitter, facebook etc you will get no response. They delete comments from their facebook when people try to reach out for support etc. Take a look at their “happy customers” and fan counts at the bottom of their website and then take a look at those social media accounts – those numbers are just a tad off 😉
Also, Spyropress is the company who’s themes they have stolen from – they are aware and I’m sure you could contact them with any questions.
I’m just trying to do my part to get the word out there where I can, but hopefully they’re just shut down soon!
Sorry to hear about your negative experience with Wittythemes, Jessica. I put a little warning at the top of that section in the article to give all readers a heads up. Thanks for sharing. If anybody else has had any similar problems, please let us know.
Awesome, thanks Mike, I’m sure others will appreciate the warning 🙂
Good thing getting the word out, more people to hear this. I too bought a theme from them in April of this year and no support and when I cancelled the recurring yearly charge the activation code for the site was immediately cancelled. I’m going to spread the word as well, if they are indeed fake. Thanks for the info.
Thanks for your input, Darryl.
Thanks for your input, Darryl!
Just a follow up, I did contact Spyropress regarding a theme I had purchased on WittyThemes (Inception) and they did confirm it was their theme. I rarely find myself in this type of situation due to research and diligence before a purchase but slipped on this one. I can’t speak on what arrangements a company may have to rebrand others work but personally I prefer to support the actual designer, it’s only fair; I can only speak on my experience after purchase.
